academics & Beyond
At Rohr Bais Chaya Academy, we strive to ensure that each of our students has the foundational values, skills, and knowledge she needs to become a lamplighter in whichever context, career or field she chooses.
Limudei Kodesh Curriculum
The primary focus of all Limudei Kodesh classes is to instill in our students a strong commitment to the ideals of Torah and Chassidus.
Our curricula are built around these values, and we place tremendous emphasis on making learning meaningful, personal, and relevant.
An additional goal of the Limudei Kodesh classes is to provide students with robust Lashon Hakodesh textual skills and the ability to learn independently. To that end, there are multiple Chumash tracks in each grade, catering to different levels of student ability. Other subjects, such as Likutei Sichos and Nach, are also streamed, depending on the grade.
At the same time, we include course options that focus on content rather than skills, allowing students who find textual work arduous to connect to the ideas and values happily and without stress. Wherever possible, students can choose their track. In every subject and level, we strive to create a learning atmosphere that is enthusiastic and joyful. B”H, feedback from every seminary over many years has shown that our graduates are extremely well-prepared learners.
general studies Curriculum
The general studies curriculum aims to give every student the strong foundation needed to pursue her passions and be prepared for the life and career she chooses.
Courses are designed to deliver essential content knowledge and skills: fundamental concepts, a deep level of analysis and comprehension, clear communication, logical thinking and organized problem solving, along with creative ways to showcase thinking.
Each student should be proficient in world and US history, government & economics, biology, chemistry, and anatomy & physiology, algebraic reasoning, spatial analysis and geometry skills, fundamentals of art and physical education, literary analysis, composition and rhetorical devices, and financial and computer literacy. Our students are equipped to move through the world as women who have the background to understand, analyze, and confidently understand and solve problems.
Individualization is built into each course and teachers differentiate content, process, and product to help each student achieve her potential. Math courses, Ivrit classes, and some science courses are streamed to help students strive toward challenging—but achievable— expectations.
Other courses are individually tailored within a broader classroom, with students pushed to excel to the best of their abilities.
The coursework is constantly being updated and revised, all while meeting or exceeding the academic criteria established by the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship, ensuring that students are both academically and financially equipped to pursue post-secondary studies. The General Studies program overlaps with the Florida B.E.S.T. and Next Generation Sunshine State Standards while integrating the critical thinking and multiple solutions introduced with Common Core. Students are required to complete four years each of high school mathematics and English Language Arts, three credits each of science and history, two sequential credits in foreign language (Ivrit), one credit each in Physical Education and Fine Arts, and 0.5 credits in Computers and Technology. This comprehensive approach also allows for electives such as debate, law, pilates, philosophy, dual enrollment, or other areas of interest, as expressed and requested by students.
“The school's commitment to providing a comprehensive education grounded in Torah values has been remarkable. The faculty and staff are not only knowledgeable but also deeply caring, ensuring that each student receives the attention and support they need to thrive both academically and spiritually.”
