building relationships
RBCA is built on relationships. We know that girls are the most open to being inspired when they connect with and feel cared for by their teachers.
There are a number of periods each week dedicated solely for teachers to speak and connect with girls, guiding them in multiple ways - spiritually, emotionally, socially, or academically.
Our dedicated and talented teachers are intentional about discussing current, relevant issues with students, and encourage students to explore the questions and ideas that are meaningful to them. We strive to maintain open communication with our students so that they feel comfortable to share with school staff members. RBCA also hosts numerous speakers and workshops to support the girls' personal and spiritual growth in many areas.
Student Support
We recognize the need for teenagers to have a safe and confidential outlet and the importance of having a school counselor on staff. We're excited to introduce our school therapist, Dini Klafter, LCSW.
Dini works with teens and adults struggling with a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. She provides a compassionate and supportive environment to help students gain the tools they need to overcome life’s challenges and connect with others in a more meaningful way.
The school’s counselor’s primary role is to support students and be available for any student who needs guidance and a listening ear. Toward that end, she collaborates with parents and teachers when needed. Mrs. Klafter has worked in various mental health clinics and schools, supporting children and adolescents from different backgrounds in navigating day-to-day life, major life events, challenges and milestones.
Dini meets with all students on a rotation, and sets up additional meetings by request of students, parents, or faculty members.
Academic Accommodations
Achieving success in learning is a critical piece of a student's high school experience.
Mrs. Malka Posner Ms.Ed is our coordinator for academic accommodations. She works with students and teachers to support academic growth and mastery for all students, helping each girl experience the joy of success
“One of the most important things I've taken away from my time at Bais Chaya is that learning isn't limited to the classroom. Learning can come from anywhere–every person, every challenge, and every triumph has something valuable to teach us, if only we approach life with an open mind.”
